I Am Here
single / multichannel video work
The work I Am Here consists of video clips taken from the beginning of 2009. The work is an ongoing process.
The composition of the clips is always the same. The background and lighting depend on the environment and situation in which the video was shot.
The work has been inspired by zen meditation. One of the key statements of zen is that there ever is only the present moment. The future and the past don’t really exist. Environment, looks and moods may change, but life is always about the one and the same flow of the present moment.
The duration of each clip is six seconds. The piece is presented as a loop on either one screen or videos from each year divided to their own screen using the material shot by the time of the presentation.
